With the castle crumbling, Rentarou grabs Sara’s hand to save her from falling. She tells him to just save himself, since he already has Souju, but Rentarou tells her that they need to be three. Just when she rekindles some hope, however, a giant Ika Fire rises out of the lake and blows up the rest of the bridge. Fortunately, Souju swoops in and puts Shimajima’s baseball tips to good use, catching them both in the plane. Now that Rentarou’s pumped up, he can toss aside missiles and run on warheads, leading up to breaking off a piece of the Detective Kick right in the Ika Fire’s eye. Now everyone’s happy (except for Kimihiko), and we get to see everyone partying at Gen and Michiru’s wedding. We then get a lengthy scene of the trio happily playing under the sakura petals, and a vision of Ainosuke finally accepting Rentarou as a man.
Ubertastic episode! From the beginning sequence, my heart was totally pounding, and the ending was fantastic. I don’t know why Rentarou was having trouble lifting Sara, since he’s normally such a stud, but I suspect there was some kryptonite in the bridge. Once that was destroyed, however, he was tossing aside missiles easily. Just a great episode, with Rentarou scoring the win, and Kimihiko being left playing catch with Shimajima.

Kryptonite, eh? Well, Rentarou sure did seem like Superman, with all that flying and whatnot.
Kimihiko becoming hard gay for Sara was a bit unexpected but I finally understood why he couldn’t make her happy.

I was at matthew’s blog and when i read the castle fell down, i wondered what happened to Kimihiko. After rereading the entry i gave up and decided that Kimihiko died in the rubble because he was just that unimportant a character.
I think while the castle was crumbling, Shimajima and the Gothloli Mask twins carried Kimihiko out (he was unconscious). Imagine his shock when he woke up and the series was over, but he was still single. Poor Kimihiko =(.
By the way, did anyone recognize the castle?
