As soon as I get a chance, I plan to fire up iTunes to check out Anime Today, TSRI’s new biweekly podcasts about what’s new in the world of anime and manga. It seems there’s even a call-in segment!!!
Edit: Ok, the podcast was pretty interesting. There was quite a bit of good information, and it was reasonably entertaining. I feel that with more episodes, the podcasts will improve faster than a shounen hero. The first episode had some snags, of course. The male hosts were so wooden, and were clearly reading from a script. The female hosts had about 100x more chemistry and I really enjoyed their conversations, because it was like listening to some really excited fans talking about things I’m interested in. The first female-hosted part, however, had pretty bad audio, and when the hosts trailed off in volume, they were practically impossible to hear. Hopefully lots of fans will tune in, and with more input the show will get better and better.
What was up with the last 15 seconds, however, as the hosts were talking about messing up and howling/barking like dogs? Reminded me of that Neon Genesis Evangelion drama track where they do their own sound effects…

The last 15 seconds seemed to me like a spoof of Excel Saga’s ending. Dunno maybe they thought it would be funny doing such a thing, it was funny in the end, in my opinion of course.
