Everybody is in a bad mood, because things just haven’t been going right. Shana’s all beat up and pissed about how Yuuji’s messing with her mind, and Friagne has his panties in a bunch about how the Corpse Retriever, Rammie, has been eating all the weak torches. Only Kazumi has any luck at all, as Ike helps her invite Yuuji on a date to the art museum. The date starts out ok, but then Yuuji meets up with Rammie, and they talk about some boring stuff and ditch Kazumi. It seems that Friagne wants to use all the torches in a setup called the City Devouring.
On the other side of town, Marjorie stumbles upon Friagne and leaps into battle. However, Friagne’s anti-flame ring, Azur, is more than enough to stop her furry blasts, and he runs away after learning that Marjorie isn’t the one eating the weak torches. Unhappy with how easily Friagne escaped, Marjorie demands that her new lackies, Tanaka and Satou, bring her beer. Back at school, Shana is still wracked with indecision, and Alastor wants to destroy Yuuji to strengthen her resolve.
We finally get to meet Rammie, but this episode was rather boring. I can’t believe that he messed up Kazumi’s date like that, especially after Ike and the Free Ticket Girl went through all that trouble to hook her up. The worst thing is that during the date, Yuuji was thinking about Shana! Wait a second, this is sounding awfully familiar…

Episode 5 was relatively boring indeed, but rest assured – it’s picking up again!
It was boring…But quite informative, in any case. At least we know there are ‘bad’ Guze no Tomogaras and ‘good’ ones who want balance to come into the world. That was really a nice one with the last sentence. Suzuka pun indeed! XP
But then, he needed to satisfy his curiosity about the Corpse Retriever, since he could see that he was a Guze. I just feel kinda sorry for Kazumi…Stay tuned for episode 6, ’cause its quite a blast…Go watch it yourself! XP
I just realized something: Shana says she has no name and is only identified by her sword. So, um, why does Marjorie Doe have a name? She even has a first name and a last name. Methinks someone pulled a prank on poor Shana!
There are probably a whole bunch of Flame Hazes somewhere snickering about “NoNameGirl”…
