Execution day has come, and Rukia is prepared to be sent under the gun of the Soukyoku halberd. When asked if she had any last requests, she wished that Ichigo and the gang be sent back alive to the real world. Although the captains who are watching the execution whisper among themselves that her request wouldn’t be fulfilled, Rukia doesn’t seem to care since she now felt prepared for the execution and has no regrets. She gets sent up in the air, and a giant phoenix illuminates from the halberd and prepares to charge at her as Rukia thinks back on her past.
Seeing the phoenix charging, Rukia knows that this is the end as she closes her eyes. But of course, we all know that she won’t get killed as Ichigo makes another dramatic entrance to save the day as he parries the phoenix with his Soul Slayer. Rukia is sort of in disbelief at this point see what has happened in front of her, but she goes on her rambling to Ichigo that he shouldn’t save her, but he ignores her request and begins to make another slash at the phoenix, which has also regrouped and began to charge again. But this time, Captains Ukitake and Kyouraku send up some sort of lasso around the phoenix’s head and destroys it rather easily, leaving Ichigo to cut down the Soukyoku stand and free Rukia for good. Afterwords, he sends Renji to take Rukia away, and we’re left with the unfinished showdown between Ichigo and Byakuya!
Although it’s getting sort of silly to see Ichigo be able to power up so much during the series, it was just too cool to see in that cape with his mummy-wrapped body holding back that phoenix back like it was nothing. Not only that, he was able to easily handle some of the vice-captains without his soul slayer with ease, which leads up to the fight with Byakuya which hopefully will be interesting as well 
Sort of surprising was to see Captain Kyouraku come out of nowhere to assist Ukitake to take down the phoenix, but now it leads to some more possible intriguing match ups between captains. I’m sort of waiting to see how Ichigo breaks through to acquire all this power, but we’ll see how the anime writers handle it.

Awesome moment when they have the emotional rescue, and then for no reason Ichigo throws Rukia at Renji =D.
Rukia must be tired of being tossed around like a rag doll these days!
Ichigo has unknowingly invented RUKIABALL.
It may seem absurd that Ichigo can power up all the time, but even the best can get taken down sometimes. And later it will be explained why he is so ridiculously powerful, so keep watching.
I hope I was sufficiently vague. People seem to scream SPOILER very often now. D:

Rukia looks so small when compaired to ichigo and renji.
Seeing this episode for the first time, I was jumping for excitement as Ichigo made his entrance. I noticed though that he looked a bit more mature than normal, and he looked a lot more bigger (taller, more musculare than normal). Well as me and my friend watch it, we are amazed on how he’s more powered up and cool!!!
