Gundam Seed Destiny 39

Ender on July 26, 2005 · in Gundam Seed Destiny

Yet another action packed, but somewhat predictable episode. Lacus’s crew has gotten ahold of an old notebook detailing Dullindal’s “Destiny Plan”, but in the process their hiding spot is discovered by ZAFT forces. As the uber pink flagship Eternal makes its escape towards Earth, Andrew staves off the ZAFT mooks in his pimpin’ red Gaia Gundam. Meanwhile, Kira “borrows” Cagalli’s Strike Gundam, reprograms it on the fly to his old Strike’s specs, and sets out in time to save the Eternal from certain doom (but gets the arms and legs shot off in the process!). Lacus then loads Kira into the new Strike Freedom Gundam, which is like Freedom with a DRAGOON (those detachable automated laser turrents) system, dual wield, and a better color scheme. He then proceeds to kick everyone’s butt, end of story.

While not much really “happened” plotwise, there’s plenty of fun to be found. I was particularly tickled with Kira’s clutch performance when an explosion knocked Lacus off balance; he knows a harem-anime opportunity when he sees one. A winner is you!

Of course, I always love it when they drag out dusty old Gundams of yesteryear into the fray again. I certainly hope Cagalli had insurance on that thing though…did any of you ever have a friend who “borrowed” something expensive, only to return it in a state of disrepair? As for why Kira found it necessary to change the color of the phase shift armor to blue…maybe he wasn’t comfortable enough with his masculinity to pilot a red-pink Strike?

Next time – a new bling’d out Gundam for Cagalli!

There’s a mistake in the 5th caption. That is actually “Ferrari” and not “Blue Steel”.

Kabitzin, are you sure it’s Ferrari but perhaps ‘Magnum’? :)

I watched the Strike Freedom Gundam, and I think the Strike Freedom Gundam is similar to new Gundam. Because the Strike Freedom Gundam has something like a fannel.

UGHHHH, I just realized what you were talking about with “Three Strikes and you’re out…” I thought at first you were referring to the two laser beams missing Kira, and then it hit me that you had capitalized the “S” for a reason T___T

So if Kira loses the new one, does that mean he’s out?

If you take a closer look, the Strike Rouge’s shield is still pink.
