One month passes by quick as Sophie teaches Kazuma and the gang everything she knows about French breads and how to adjust to the various palates. Sophie also expressed that she would join the gang in their trip to Monaco as she was closing down the Gordon Blue to help Pantasia in the competition, and Kawachi shows some resentment towards Sophie’s action since he didn’t want to embarrass himself in front of Sophie as the billion-yen clown. So the night before the trip to Monaco, Kawachi is pacing and thinking of perhaps coming up with an alternative plan when a ringing sound emerges from the chest that Kanmuri gave him. Inside the chest was a cell phone, and Kanmuri was on the other end to discuss implementation of the clown plan. Kanmuri suggests that he go for the Rodin thinker pose, which seemed to appeal greatly to Kawachi and he forgets about embarrassing himself.
The next morning when the group arrives at Monaco, Kawachi suggests that they create a Rodin the thinker bread for the preliminary judging competition to set the odds betting, and the group immediately gives their approval. Three days later, the group comes up with a very good looking bread. Unfortunately, their efforts would go to “waste” as Kawachi picks up the bread to move it and “trips” over himself and squashes the bread into pieces in the process. Kawachi’s accident infuriates Suwabara who tells Kawachi that he should essentially commit suicide on his sword for destroying the bread. But Kawachi steps up and says that he’ll take responsibility for his actions, and as you can see from the pics, it’s quite an extreme option that he takes as Kawachi becomes the bread statue himself. Unfortunately, Kawachi’s bowel movements get the best of him during the long bread demonstration session as he breaks out of the mold to run into the bathroom, causing raucous havoc and sending Princess Anne unconscious at the events. These actions send the odds of Japan to 300-1 to win the competition, so the clown plan was successful in that aspect; however, the Japan group receives a 2 point deduction from their starting score, which originally was out of 10 points. So Kazuma and the gang have an uphill battle awaiting them and they haven’t even started the competitive baking yet!
