The travel day finally arrives where Kazuma, Kawachi, and Suwabara head off to France for their internship. Ryou will also be coming along to keep watch of everyone. But just before they head off, Kanmuri gives Kawachi a strange treasure chest that he warns to only open if he’s in grave trouble. I guess we may find out later on in future episodes what this chest will contain. On the flight, viewers get a good laugh as Kawachi and Suwabara continue to get in each other’s face, while Kazuma discovers that Coo, The Meister’s peacock, has also decided to tag along on the flight.

Once everyone gets to Japan, the group does some local sightseeing before they start on their internship. Ryou introduces them to Sophie Balzac Kirisaki, the manager of Gordon Blue and the mentor that they will be working under to improve their artisan skills (oh, and she just also happens to be the Meister’s sister). She quickly points out as the group tastes one of her breads that they need to take the type of person judging into consideration as different people have different palates. Suwabara is quick to notice while Kirisaki makes some tasty bread, her store isn’t very populated with customers, so he begins to inquire why this is the case. Kirisaki then opens her store doors and points across the street to the Maison Kayser store, which is attracting groups and groups of customers. Kirisaki points out that the best artisans in France work there, and that France’s contestants in the Monaco cup will likely come from there. Unintimidated, Suwabara and Kazuma decide to walk over and see what makes Maison Kayser tick.

As the Pantasia group walks over, they are quickly greeted by Edward Kayser, who seems to welcome the Pantasia group in for a tour and for a taste testing. They later meet up with 2 other brothers, Gran and Bob, who seeming to be conjoined in some freakish manner. Gran and Bob offer them a taste of what they’re up against and show off their “Goddess’s Hands”, which seem to mean you have ridiculously flexible fingers in addition to having Solar Gauntlets/Hands as the two brothers start moving their fingers in a freakish manner. Kawachi seemed to be really intimidated at this point upon learning about the Goddess’s Hands, but Suwabara and Kazuma are pretty unimpressed as they move their fingers just as flexibly as the Kayser brothers. Looks like the Kayser family may have underestimated the Japan group!

The Goddess Hands thing really cracks me up, especially when everyone but Kawachi was doing it.

True, true :)

And the new OP is quite good as well (ED reminds me of the Naruto OP during the chuunin exams)

I really hope the producers will decide to extend beyond 43 episodes….

Doesn’t seem logical to me that the newcomers tournament takes up about 25 episodes while the longer monaco cup will be only about 20. I can help feeling like things are being rushed a bit now~~~

I really love the anime Yakitate Japan! It’s so funny and entertaining plus you’ll get to learn a lot of things too! This is the best baking/cooking anime show that I’ve ever seen so far.
