Trinity Blood 4

Ender on May 28, 2005 · in Trinity Blood

So I wrote a complete spiel, but the computer crashed and I didn’t save it :( Time for the short version. Basically, Gyula hates the church and the Terrans because they killed his wife. Thus he plans to use his wife’s creation, an energy redirection satellite, as a Goldeneye style weapon. Unfortunately, Dietrich had secretly programmed in a rogue process which gives him control. It turns out he faked his death and was playing Esther and Gyula against each other all along. As part of Rosenkreuz, he plans to use the satellite to re-ignite the war between vampires and humans. He tells Esther the self destruct code for fun, knowing that Gyula won’t let her destroy his beloved wife’s creation (that sentimental fool!). Abel busts in and does his Kresnik act while Esther attempts to initiate the self destruct sequence. It doesn’t work initially, but Abel pulls some deus ex machina crap out of his butt and saves the day.

I really don’t know what to make of this series; while splendid production values abound, it has rather lame plot twists filled with a “been there, done that” feeling. In addition, the total lack of logic rivals Aquarion in magnitude. Gyula’s wife is a brilliant engineer who works in an evening gown? Abel can wipe the floor with a vampire’s ass but is powerless against a couple ropes tying him down? The inconsistencies boggle the mind, but it sure is easy on the eyes. It’s not a groundbreaker by any means, but Trinity Blood certainly is digestible entertainment. Hopefully the later episodes will feature meatier plots and development.

Evening gowns help both engineers and assasins, obviously.

Hehe, couldn’t help cracking up when I read the quote “pulls out some deus ex machina crap out of his butt and saves the day” :D

I really don’t like Abel as a main protagonist, but hopefully he’ll show more character depth / evilness, as per Kabitzin’s ‘white-haired-bishie’ theorem…

Yeah I’m not an Abel fan either, but his teethies look so funny when he’s transformed. Add “space littering” to his list of evil offenses.

They totally should make Tres the main. Robotic vampire killers is a refreshing and interesting concept and his gunkata fights are hella more interesting than Abel going SSJ.

i agree with Albert that Tres should be the main character and let Abel be the imbecile sidekick. It was bewildering to see Abel being tied on a chair and be saved by Tres when he has his own ‘vampire’ powers. I really like the animation but the storyline is too tedious it makes me sleepy, well the schedule here in our country is quite inappropriate, too.

I like Abel (except in episode 9, where I wanted to kick him), he’s a bit like Vash but really, he’s a bit like his biblical namesake mostly.

If you like Tres, there’s a Drama CD (Gunmetal Hound) centered on him, the plot is about his system getting hacked by Deus (another cyborg).

I am wondering if the tv series will show any hint of Tres’ seemly robotic ‘crush’ on Caterina because in the Manga, CD drama and in the novel, he’s extremely devoted to her (and the instance he went angry is when someone insulted his data about her). So far no. Poo.

I forgot.

“Abel pulls some deus ex machina crap out of his butt and saves the day.”

Yeah, in the Anime, it kinda didn’t make sense first. However, if you watched episode 1 (how he piloted) and 2 (his flashback), it’s hinted he is *very* familiar with spaceships, crafts and that type of machines. It was part of his former job. Novel has more background and explains the origins of the Nightlords.

Abt the novel.. is it in english or japanese?can i have it in any way? or any link to them? I’m really into the original version of TB esp when many says the novel n manga serve a lot better plot than the anime.. Abel is very adorable tho >.<
