From these two episodes, most of the storyline behind Itachi and Sasuke had already been covered before back in episode 84. However, we did get to see Sasuke and his father have a father/son moment when Sasuke showed his father that he was capable of performing the fire jutsu that signifies an Uchiha’s coming of age. Also, the other part that was not shown was Itachi telling his little brother that the requirement of attaining the Mangekyou Sharingan was to kill off your best friend, which is what Itachi did with Shisui. Other than that, most of these two episodes were pretty much rehashes of past episodes. Bring on Sasuke vs Naruto!!!

Oh nooooooooes to the crapping the pants captions T_T….
I understand why they had to do these eps but I just couldn’t bring myself to care having seen the flashback in 84. I credit them for being faithful to the manga source, but I just kind of wish they could’ve done something to speed things along to the sharingan’s explanation rather than spend three episodes telling the Uchiha clan story. But now it’s done and we can watch Naruto and Sasuke beat the hell out of each other.
Ok, I gotta say it. I love Naruto’s story, I do, but they sure as hell take their time telling it.
I think this new revelation about the Mangekyou Sharingan really gives Sasuke a better reason for acting as he does. At first I thought his sudden treachery was just stupid but now it makes more sense. He’s still an asshole though. 
I have to agree with Mattias and Hephador that the flashbacks are rather long — I’d guess around 80% of episode 131 was old material, and I’m not hoping for much in the next episode, given what was in the preview.
Nevertheless, the whole Mangekyou Sharingan-thing was set up quite well — I especially liked the part when Itachi said that ‘including myself and [Sasuke] there is a 3rd person who can use the Mangekyou sharingan”
Do I smell foreshadowing? At the very least, this should allow Naruto to go past +300 episodes, easily
(assuming that time spent in flashbacks don’t exponentially increase)

There are several fansites like Narutofan and Narutochaos where you can download the early manga files. Both require you to register first, but it’s all there, available for direct downloads.
I NEED to see episode 130 and 131. Desperately. I just got into this show (and feel really dumb because it was already over) but I love Sasuke. I feel like he’s so deep and I’m like “Why the hell did he go evil?!” but then i told myself he just wanted to kill his brother so badly he had too. Like he was desperate to do it no matter what. But then i was like what spurred the sudden change? He seemed fine before. In the beginning he just wanted to be a ninja and go on missions. Sadly though the source I’ve seen Naruto from is youtube and they only had about 30 episodes.
guess all that pratice paid off,huh,sasuke? good for you! use that attack to kick naruto ass! itachi was a mean bro though,and he had mangekyou sharingan too!! itachi did many amazing things and he is the most tatlented ninja there is! so is sasuke!!!! naruto is just gifted,that’s all!
sasuke’s father seems to like itachi more since he is more tatlented and stronger! sasuke will soon do all these cool tai justu on naruto!! naruto better watch out,sasuke seems to be piss!
