Just when Lee, Shikamaru, and Kiba thought it was game over, some old friends from the Sand come by to save the day! Temari sends Tayuya flying, Kankuro sends one of his puppets to stop Ukon from stabbing Kiba, and Gaara manages to separate Lee from Kimimoro with his sand. I don’t know why, but watching Tayuya getting blown away in the beginning was soooo funny Despite the reinforcements, Tayuya and the Kon brothers continued to try and deliver the knockout blow, but I’m guessing the use of the 2nd level curse seal seemed to have done them in this time. The Kon brothers got distracted rather easily by Kankuro and his puppets and forget to watch where they’re backflipping as they run right into Kuro Ari and get locked up fresh for the shishkabobbing. Temari sent some heart attacks to tree huggers everywhere as she summons her ferret to hunt down and practically level the entire forest surroundings, and Tayuya basically had no chance since her powers are nullified by Temari’s attacks. This now leaves Gaara to handle Kimimoro, which looks like another battle of epic proportions to come!

Although nothing really groundbreaking happens in this episode, it’s good to see the Sand come around and become the allies of Konoha after all the trouble they have caused them. It looks like Naruto wasn’t the only one training on his skills as this is the first time we see Kankuro manipulate two puppets at the same time and Temari use a summon. But of all the ways to draw blood, who really bites the skin of their thumbs to do such a thing? It was sorta refreshing to see the opener get a slight update. In addition to Gai and Lee doing their little Kata in the beginning, the Sand making an appearance now.
