Starting from where we left off on episode 8, the furry gerbil-like Hollow captures Karin and holds her hostage while Ichigo and company attempt to save her. Eikichirou tries to help out as well, but the Hollow knocks him out rather easily early in the battle. Rukia realizes the danger of this Hollow since it has evaded Death Gods for about 50 years, but Ichigo refuses to have her help him as this Hollow killed his mother, and he wants to vanquish this Hollow in retaliation for taking his mother away. A battle erupts, and Ichigo manages a last second gruesome stab at the Hollow, which causes it to retreat.
As some people have mentioned before, the Death God image “mode” gets a bit annoying to view after a while with the colors washing up all over the place. Bleach seems to have gotten off to kind of a slow start in my view, but I’ll stick with it and hopefully things’ll pick up in later episodes!
