My backlog is starting to get pretty full already, which usually means it is time to start looking ahead at the next season of anime! I checked out this list of winter series and noticed it was rather light on shounen series. Since I am an incredibly shallow person, and am too lazy to look up summaries of the official sites, I base which shows I will watch entirely on art style and hype. Of the series that have picked up fansubbers so far, I’m looking forward to Mahoraba ~Heartful Days~ (lol, “Heartful Days”), Girls Bravo: Second Season (only mildly interested in this one), Sky of Iriya, Summer of UFO (has UFO in the title), and Mahou Sensei Negima! (art looks great). Of the rest, Gallery Fake (looks pretty good, hope someone picks it up), Samurai Champloo: Second Season (arg, licensed by Geneon), and Buzzer Beater (yesssssss, I need more Dream Time!) intrigue me the most. I read some of the Buzzer Beater manga online when it first started coming out, and I would love to see some space basketball with engrish.
However, all these series pale when I think about the series that I am most anticipating: UG*Ultimate Girls! How can any series stand up to a mix of cuteness, sentai, and Ultraman?!?!?!?! The blonde girl’s hair even makes it look as if she is perpetually in neko-mimi mode!!! I have no idea what the story/plot is about, but I dearly hope that some fansubbing group picks up this series.

Eh, I’m not a big fan of the series, though I certainly don’t hate it. I might check it out, but only after I’d seen the other series on the list.
