Episode 5 continues on from where we left off from 4, as Rukia finds herself underpowered to fight the Hollow. Fortunately, Chad was nearby and he jumps in to assist Rukia in any way he can. Unfortunately, he cannot see the Hollow is, so Chad could only mindlessly flail his arms at times in hopes of hitting the Hollow. Fortunately, Ichigo comes in to save the day and send the Hollow off to hell. But before that, we find out that this particular Hollow had killed the parents of the boy whose soul is stuck in the caged bird, and after the Hollow goes to hell, Ichigo sends the boy’s soul up to the Soul Society, where he can finally meet up with his mother ^^
A pretty cut and dry episode, but at least we are introduced to the monstrous strength of Chad
