As the Minerva docks at the island nation of ORB to return Cagalli and repair, we move into a plot development phase, as we learn what each of the protagonists feels about the precarious political situation, and we also learn what ORB’s temporary leaders have been up to during Cagalli’s absence. Let’s just say that the world is a pretty big mess right now, after being demolished by all the large asteroids in episode 7, and the Earth people ain’t happy about it, especially after pictures were released showing that the perpetrators were Coordinators.
Meanwhile, several new twists have appeared on the drama front; Asuran goes back to visit Kira and Lacus, a slimy administrative member makes his move on Cagalli, Asuran silently pops the question, and Cpt. Ramius (the former captain of the Archangel ), who has taken over the maintenance team at ORB, gets to have a friendly cap’n to cap’n chat with Cpt. Gladys. Also, the crew of the Minerva gets shore leave, and Shin runs into Kira at a memorial commemorating the victims of the last war. Not knowing who the other is, they share a few thoughts, and find that they think alike. Oooh, the irony!!

Just thought I’d point out that the Archangel’s captain is named Murrue Ramius, and she is currently using the pseudonym Maria Vernes.
Oops, yeah that was the wrong name; gotta change it. Maybe I was thinking of Maid-tai for some odd reason.
I’m telling you, I waiting for Kira to introduce himself as someone else. I dunno… The whole fake name thing is kind of weird, though sorta understandable.
I thought the fake name thing was a Gundam standby, just like mechs and ugly masks.
heh really? guess i haven’t run into the other gundam series that uses fake names. I’ll agree w/ the masks (and to an degree, mechas) though. I’m still waiting for an ORIGINAL gundam suit to come out <_<
