Friday-Monday is tired of waiting for Carossur, so he activates a booby trap in the data that displays Elda Taluta on the screen and rox the sox off Madlax’s mind. After she’s been Elda Taluta’ed, Madlax is even more like Margaret than ever, and she keeps having flashbacks of holding a gun in her hand. Madlax also mentions the red shoes from episode 2. Vanessa is totally geeked up because she is so close to getting free lifetime bodyguard rights, she can practically taste it. I am completely in awe of her ability to flirt and get what she wants. Meanwhile, Rimerda tries to crash the party when she finds the Elda Taluta’ed Madlax wandering the streets, but while she initially scares Madlax, she is absolutely no match for Madlax in an evening gown. Has anyone else noticed that Madlax never even gets scratched when she’s wearing an evening gown? No wonder she always changes for important/difficult missions!

Back at the farm, that mysterious village girl from Gazth-Sonika is introduced as Nahal, and she has a run in with both Margaret and Carossur. She seems to be pretty powerful, but mentions something about Margaret having potential when she is unable to take Secondary from the sleeping Margaret. Something powerful and violent lies beneath the airheaded surface of Margaret’s personality and both Nahal and Carossur realize it is pointless to try to take Secondary from Margaret by force. I’m starting to wonder what Carossur’s true agenda is as well, especially after he almost gets mind-rocked by Margaret’s book. What does he mean when he says that the blood on the book is his own blood?

It’s only episode 14, but I have solved the main mystery of Madlax. Don’t read on if you don’t like spoilers. Elda Taluta is obviously the name of a Bee Train series that is even more mysterious and slow moving than Noir and Madlax, and was released 15 years ago. This is why it scrambles everyone’s mind. Anyone who saw the series, before it was licensed (and then sat on), goes catatonic when reminded of the name; then they are no longer the same person they used to be. I think Madlax’s father killed himself after seeing the open-ended final episode (as did Mr. Burton). I’m willing to bet the main character was able to kill enemies with books, and wore red shoes and a tadpole shirt. She probably had killer background music and a female sidekick with a taste for shoujo-ai, too. Rumor has it that ROD was ripped off of Elda Taluta manuscripts that were leaked. I’ve also heard that the Grandu Sponsa for Elda Taluta sold pasta.

Well, what a good hypothesis. I am amazed about how deep this serie has gone :P

It all makes so much sense now. I bet that the book Margaret has is the artbook for the series, and after the last episode, people were so angry that they burned every other copy in an airplane crash.

Just my predictions though!

One thing bugs me, though. Elinor has told a complete stranger (Dawn) about Margaret only knowing one word after she reappeared (“Madlax”) but not Vanessa. Or else Vanessa would of made the connection by now, surely.

That happened 12 years ago and Margaret is probably not the center of Vanessa’s life like she is for Elinor. IIRC, Margaret and Elinor completely forgot Vanessa (or at least her name) so it’s not that unusual that she wouldn’t remember the word “Madlax”.
Maybe Vanessa thought Margaret had said “Exlax”(?).
However if you listen closely, you’ll hear that her realname is Mad-o-lax.
