Samurai Champloo 04

The whole yakuza story wraps up as things come to a head between the two clans. Mugen leaves when he finds that he’s there for intimidation and not for actual fighting. Plus those crabs are so tough to eat, what’s the point of sticking around? Back in town, Fuu escapes, but ends up as the dealer in the pivotal gamble (where did she learn those dice skills?). Destiny ensures that all three wind up in the same room, on the same side, during the final fight scene and the trio bid a bittersweet farewell to the new Oyabin, Sousuke.

I loved how Fuu tried to drive away potential customers by making that face. Poor Fuu spent a large portion of this episode being pushed around, but fortunately Momo-chan had her back. Momo-chan is quickly becoming overpowered in this series, and by the end may be able to take on both Jin and Mugen at the same time. The good yakuza vs. bad yakuza story was ok, but I’m glad it’s over with. Can someone explain to me why everyone loves to have scenes with women being spun out of their kimonos?
