Madlax and Vanessa are still holed up in Gazth-Sonika, and finally have a chance to talk. Vanessa is determined to reveal the truth, but Madlax warns her of the dangers. She also tells Vanessa that the only way to avoid dying is to hire her services for life. Vanessa doesn’t have that kind of money, so she moves to her usual backup plan: seduce Madlax to get free bodyguard service! It remains to be seen whether this tactic works on non-nerds. Meanwhile, Rimerda is doing all of Carossur’s dirty work in order to hunt down Madlax without alerting Enfan. Finally, back at home, Margaret wonders why she hasn’t gotten her invitation to become one half of Shin Noir yet.
I can’t wait to finally hear more of Madlax’s background. It never occurred to me that she and Margaret were about the same age. Similar to Noir, it seems that the main mystery revolves around what really happened in the past. That mysterious girl appeared again, and from her dress I’m led to believe that she comes from that village in Gazth-Sonika. I’m curious to see if batting her eyelashes and making crappy sandwiches will really enable Vanessa to woo Madlax. Bee Train laid the shoujo-ai on pretty thick this time.

That’s really a pity they cut out the hot action between Vanessa and Madlax. I thought Madlax was much older like 24 or so. Well, Margaret looks much younger. At first I thought she’s 12.
Yes, it’s too bad they “cut out” that part – assuming something did happen! I’d like to think so but then again, when Madlax got up, Vanessa was still dressed. Oh well…
