Jiraiya absolutely gets no respect Naruto 85 icon razz After spending like 1 minute introducing himself, he just gets blank stares from Naruto, a chuckle from sharkface, and no reaction from Itachi Naruto 85 icon razz Luckily for Naruto, Jiraiya comes back just in time to save him from the wrath of Kisame’s chakra eating blade, and he was prepping to take care of Itachi and Kisame when Sasuke’s pride and anger got the best of him. Telling everyone that this was “his fight”, Sasuke charges at Itachi, floppy arms and all, to take down his evil brother. Unfortunately for Sasuke, if he were a Final Fantasy XI character, he would be at level 12, and Itachi is at level 50. Thus, Itachi swats away Sasuke rather easily and puts Sasuke under Tsukuyomi Sharingan to turn Sasuke’s brain into mush.

Watching in disbelief, Naruto attempts to attach Itachi, and Kisame almost turns Naruto into sushi when Jiraiya performs one of the more impressive jutsu seen in the series, Ninpou Gamaguchi Shibari, which turns the walls into the lining of a frog stomach. Jiraiya seemingly had both Kisame and Itachi caught for good when Itachi releases one more ace up his sleeve, Amaterasu, to escape the stomach walls.

Although not as action packed as I would have liked due to the slow torture of Sasuke, it was good to see that Jiraiya live up to his name of being one of the great Sennins and perform some amazing jutsus. One thing that puzzled me though…what happened to the girl?? Guess the frog’s stomach lining must have melted her away Naruto 85 icon biggrin

Absolutely have to agree with you on having no respect for Jiraiya after that long and lame intro of himself. I almost expect that scene to have a cold breeze passing through at that moment. And interesting observation about the missing girl… I didn’t even notice her absence.

Whoa, wierd — I totally didn’t notice that she vanished! But from ep86, it’s clear that Jiraiya has backups! RAID5 is for redundancy (^_^)
