Margaret’s book is missing a few pages and she wants another copy of the book to see what she’s missing. Since R.O.D. TV has ended, Margaret hires “biblio-detective” Eric Gillain to go get a second copy of this book, which is known as “Secondary”. Apparently it’s written in some strange language (Elies) that brings misfortune. Moreover, the language originates from Gazth-sonika, and the team that investigated the walls with this writing met with some pretty bad luck (you know, like dying). It’s a fairly typical wandering bad luck book. When crazy maked dude (aka “Mister”) has his nightly session of FFXI interrupted by news of this book, he makes Secondary Enfan’s primary goal.
The first twist comes when Eric hires the best bodyguard he can get: Madlax. Margaret paid Eric large amounts of cash, and Eric wants to be alive to actually use it. Although Margaret and Madlax are in this episode, they still have not interacted. The other twist is that Eric seems to have been involved with the incident 12 years ago, but he does not remember it. The creepy kids make a cameo appearance, and I think that almost all these characters that we meet are somehow connected to the strange event from 12 years ago that started the Gazth-sonika civil war. I still can’t figure out why everyone has been brainwashed, or why evil tadpoles make people go crazy, but I’m sure Bee Train will slowly clue me in. Next episode looks action packed!
