Maria-sama ga Miteru 10

Ender on May 1, 2004 · in Maria-sama ga Miteru

Although it’s an entertaining episode in itself, ep. 10 serves as a lead-in to one of the “major” stories of Marimite. Basically, a bestselling semi-autobiographical novel recently came out, and it’s causing a big fuss at the academy because the setting of the novel matches the school’s description down to the smallest speck of dust. In addition, the author’s pen name, Suga Sei, is suspiciously similar to Satou Sei (Rosa Gigantea). Out of curiosity, Yumi (as well as pretty much half the school)secretly buys the book without Sei’s knowledge, and is moved to tears. The story is about an attempted double suicide in which only one of the participants actually dies, and Yumi starts jumping to conclusions…maybe this really was written by Sei? Oh, how tragic! Her hunches are further supported by the fact that there’s definitely something shady about Sei’s past that no one on the council wants to talk about. Will she get to the bottom of the truth?

This episode is noteworthy in that it features the most well-known Sei-Yumi huggling scene. Yumi’s SD expressions are always great fun to watch!
