More drama and flashbacks again, as Kita reflects on the first time he met the real Yagyuu Jubei. I guess he and Koinosuke knew each other (and Koinosuke was a terrible swordsman!), and he also seems to have a one-eye-closed thing going on. I found it interesting to see some more of the buildup between the Edo and Northern Yagyuu clans. Who was behind the slaughter and exile of the Norther Yagyuu? Also, as weak and ugly as the Siberian Yagyuu seem to be, they are still more than a match for the four idiot boys.
Meanwhile, Mikage is still lost in the forest (although she finds what’s left of Ayunosuke). Jiyuu is finally healed (sort of), and heads home happily. However, Felicia has been working her uber-gaijin mojo on Sai and just when Jiyuu thinks she’s gonna get a happy Papa-daughter hug, she gets slapped instead. Oh, the drama!
