Due to incessant ranting and raving from Kabitzin about Jubei-chan 2, I’ve finally started watching it. I’ve seen the entire first series, and while it was fun and amusing, it wasn’t particularly outstanding (though it did feature some kickin’ Vanessa Mae-style violin music). Thankfully, the sequel series is much improved in all areas (and swapped in Yui Horie as Jubei this time around), with better animation, returning characters, non-stop gags (reaching almost Excel-saga like levels), and a real plot! However, I’m kind of sad that they changed up the “transformation” music; the original was really good! On a side note, I think Freasha (Felicia) is a great addition to the cast! At first I thought her weird genki-ness and high pitched voice were really annoying, but now I’m hooked on her hilarious uber-gaijin accent. I also like the fact that the producers throw in references to other anime, like Hunter x Hunter (mistakenly translated as Hentai x Hentai in one of the subs) and Kodomo no Omocha. Ah geez, now I’m starting to sound like Kabitizin. At least I can finally understand why he’s always saying, “Hand over that lovely eyepatch!”
I Surrender!

Four years later, Kabitzin calls this “more entertaining than it is awesome.”
Oh how the times change. I don’t even see captions on these posts!!!
Well it is very entertaining, but I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece or anything. Also, back in the dark ages, I didn’t do captions.
